  what is the harm or downside of being pimo?.

  i get all the good things about being in the cong, good social life lots of invites to bbqs and meals out.

  We do get one--same person--?--sign up every few weeks. Same style--deliberate " bad behaviour" for a dub. Then they disappear.

  Its one thing being PIMO if it just means accompanying your spouse / parents to meetings now and then--and nothing more ( several regulars on here fit that description,...but

  being an elder FFS

  do you take the lead in field service ? do you give public talks ? you are in effect unpaid middle management--onlookers see you as a devout jw.

  hi everyone i’m a pimo elder ex bethelite and pioneer who has been having doubts for many years.

  as of late i’ve come to have even more doubts mainly due to the gb pushing the vaccines and acting like salesman for big pharma companies .

  i will never take these vaccines even if it meant i couldn’t go to the hall as was previously said but the gb have done a big u turn on this now.

  when i think my dear old jw dad was donating £100 per month ! As well as a one off £5000 to the kingdom hall fund ( which was subsequently sold!). Needless to say as soon as i got power of attorney those payments were stopped. By then he was in a care home in a different congregation area...but i know an elder from his former congregation used to visit him. He would know better than come to me for the money.

  Fancy dress parties banned...anyone else?

  we had 2 fancy dress parties in our congregation...before the ban.

  it was the best fun we ever had together.

  problem was some came as pirates with swords!

  never went to a fancy dress bash--but in my jw teens i went to a few parties where the parents were out of the house--even on holiday. One such lasted the whole weekend. Everyone was drunk, sleeping where they collapsed. The house was a right mess. Quite a few punch ups too.

  Being in the truth was fun back then.
